List of things to do in Houston for Spring Break
Why head out of town for spring break when there is so much to explore right here in Houston? Spring break is less than two weeks away, so we compiled a list of some family friendly places to check out while the kids are out of school!
Free: Every Thursday, you can head to the Childrens museum of Houston at no cost from 5pm-8pm! The Museum of Fine arts, The Museum of Natural Science, and the Holocaust Museum are also free on Thursdays. Check online for the hours of free admission, as they vary.
Free: The Square at Memorial City offers tons of fun community events including outdoor movie nights complete with complementary popcorn! Memorial city mall also has the worlds largest soft, indoor playground, Frolics Castle! To see the list of upcoming events, click HERE.
Free: The Houston area has some amazing parks that are worth checking out! Pack a picnic, and check out some of these local favorites!
1. Exploration Park in Katy- This park offers numerous interactive activities for all ages including large foam blocks for imaginitive play, a huge play structure and lots of open space to explore!
2. Barbara Fish Daniel Nature Play area at Buffalo Park- If you have never been here, it is one of the most awesome parks in Houston! Located along Buffalo Bayou, this place has so much to offer! You and your kids can explore the trails, climb and play on numerous play structures, and even look deep into the underground cisterns with a periscope! The view of the skyline is beautiful as well!
3. Matzke Park in Cypress- This local park has a butterfly/sensory garden, play equipment and a walking/biking trail!
$ Space Center Houston is offering a "Space Explorer Camp" from March 9-13! If you don't want to enroll in a camp, take your whole family for a day of fun and exploration. There is so much to do and see!
